It looks like Memory Overflow problems are causing many Sprint HTC Hero owners to miss large amounts of text messages according to a thread over on the Sprint Community Forums. After narrowing down the different PRI and PRL versions, hard resets, uninstalling applications and just about every other possible testing they could think of it seems they were finally able to narrow down the issue to memory overflow. When the Hero is out of available system memory due to one of the many confirmed memory leaks (bluetooth), the device will no longer receive text messages and instead all messages will be lost in a mobile black hole. Sure you can always restart your phone and you will begin receiving any new messages sent after the restart, but any message that should have been received while your phone was out of system memory is gone for good. So how about it HTC, let’s get those hot fixes going before the Sprint community starts taking advantage of their 30 day return policy and picks up the Samsung Moment.
